The ultra-quick Toyota GT1 was entered into the 1999 24 Hours of Lè Mans with skilled drivers and high chances and hopes of winning the race. Toyota was left disappointed, however, as both of the Toyota’s faced impairing incidents during the race. The closest car to victory had blow it’s tire in the middle of track, forcing it to lose a position, and ultimately finish the race in a close 2nd place.
